John 13:19-21
New English Translation
19 I am telling you this now,[a] before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe[b] that I am he.[c] 20 I tell you the solemn truth,[d] whoever accepts[e] the one I send accepts me, and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”[f]
21 When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed[g] in spirit, and testified,[h] “I tell you the solemn truth,[i] one of you will betray me.”[j]

- John 13:19 tn Grk “that I am.” R. E. Brown (John [AB], 2:555) argues for a nonpredicated ἐγώ εἰμι (egō eimi) here, but this is far from certain.
- John 13:20 tn Grk “Truly, truly, I say to you.”
