¹² teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, ^13 (A)looking for the blessed ^(B)hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ^14 (C)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(D)and purify for Himself ^(E)His own special people, zealous for good works.

²⁴ For we were saved in this hope, but ^(A)hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?

² Beloved, ^(A)now we are children of God; and ^(B)it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, ^(C)we shall be like Him, for ^(D)we shall see Him as He is. ^3 (E)And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

^27 (A)To them God willed to make known what are ^(B)the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: ^[a]which is ^(C)Christ in you, ^(D)the hope of glory.
