Disciples’ Relation to the World

¹⁸ “^(A)If the world hates you, ^[a]you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but ^(B)I chose you out of the world, ^(C)because of this the world hates you.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he may become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. ^(A)If they have called the head of the house ^[a](B)Beelzebul, how much more will they insult the members of his household!
