Genesis 15:13-15
Contemporary English Version
13-15 (A) Then the Lord said:
Abram, you will live to an old age and die in peace.
But I solemnly promise that your descendants will live as foreigners in a land that doesn't belong to them. They will be forced into slavery and abused for 400 years. But I will terribly punish the nation that enslaves them, and they will leave with many possessions.

13 Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years(A) your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved(B) and mistreated there. 14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out(C) with great possessions.(D) 15 You, however, will go to your ancestors(E) in peace and be buried at a good old age.(F)

17 (A) What I am saying is that the Law cannot change or cancel God's promise made 430 years before the Law was given.

17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years(A) later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise.
