14 Then Lot went out and spake unto his sons-in-law, which [a]married his daughters, and said, Arise, get you out of this place: for the Lord will destroy the city, but he seemed to his sons-in-law, as though he had mocked.

15 ¶ And when the morning arose, the Angels hasted Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters [b]which are here, lest thou be destroyed in the punishment of the city.

16 And as he [c]prolonged the time, the men caught both him and his wife, and his two daughters by the hands (the Lord being merciful unto him) and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry[a] his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!(A)” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.(B)

15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away(C) when the city is punished.(D)

16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters(E) and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them.(F)
