Isaiah 24:5-6

5 The earth is also (A)defiled [a]by its inhabitants, for they violated laws, altered statutes, and (B)broke the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore, a (C)curse devours the earth, and those who live on it suffer for their guilt. Therefore, the (D)inhabitants of the earth decrease in number, and few people are left.

Cruel, with fury and burning anger,
To make the land a desolation;
And He will exterminate its sinners from it.
10 For the (B)stars of heaven and their constellations
Will not flash their light;
The (C)sun will be dark when it rises
And the moon will not shed its light.
11 So I will (D)punish the world for its evil
And the (E)wicked for their wrongdoing;
I will also put an end to the (F)audacity of the proud
And humiliate the (G)arrogance of the [a](H)tyrants.
12 I will make mortal man (I)scarcer than pure gold
And mankind than the (J)gold of Ophir.
