Isaiah 24:5-6

New King James Version

⁵^(A)The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants,
Because they have ^(B)transgressed the laws,
Changed the ordinance,
Broken the ^(C)everlasting covenant.
⁶Therefore ^(D)the curse has devoured the earth,
And those who dwell in it are ^[a]desolate.
Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are ^(E)burned,
And few men are left.

Will not give their light;
The sun will be ^(C)darkened in its going forth,
And the moon will not cause its light to shine.

¹¹“I will ^(D)punish the world for its evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity;
^(E)I will halt the arrogance of the proud,
And will lay low the haughtiness of the ^[a]terrible.
¹²I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold,
A man more than the golden wedge of Ophir.
