James 2:21-23

²¹^(A)Was our father Abraham not justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? ²²You see that ^(B)faith was working with his works, and ^[a]as a result of the ^(C)works, faith was ^[b]perfected; ²³and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “^(D)And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a ^(E)friend of God.

²¹Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?^(A) ²²You see that his faith and his actions were working together,^(B) and his faith was made complete by what he did.^(C) ²³And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”^[a]^(D) and he was called God’s friend.^(E)
