Then Judah went up, and the Lord delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand; and they killed ten thousand men at (A)Bezek. And they found Adoni-Bezek in Bezek, and fought against him; and they defeated the Canaanites and the Perizzites. Then Adoni-Bezek fled, and they pursued him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and big toes. And Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table; (B)as I have done, so God has repaid me.” Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

When Judah attacked, the Lord gave the Canaanites and Perizzites(A) into their hands, and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek.(B) It was there that they found Adoni-Bezek(C) and fought against him, putting to rout the Canaanites and Perizzites. Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.

Then Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off have picked up scraps under my table. Now God has paid me back(D) for what I did to them.” They brought him to Jerusalem,(E) and he died there.
