⁸ “Blessed are ^(A)the pure in heart, for ^(B)they will see God.

^2 (A)Beloved, now we are ^(B)children of God, and ^(C)it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He ^(D)appears, we will be ^(E)like Him, because we will ^(F)see Him just as He is. ³ And everyone who has this ^(G)hope set on Him ^(H)purifies himself, just as He is pure.

^12 [a]instructing us to deny ungodliness and ^(A)worldly desires and ^(B)to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner ^(C)in the present age, ¹³ looking for the blessed hope and the ^(D)appearing of the glory of ^[b](E)our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, ¹⁴ who ^(F)gave Himself for us ^(G)to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to ^(H)purify for Himself a ^(I)people for His own possession, ^(J)eager for good deeds.

⁴ And when the Chief ^(A)Shepherd appears, you will receive the ^(B)unfading ^[a](C)crown of glory.

²⁸ Now, ^(A)little children, remain in Him, so that when He ^(B)appears, we may have ^(C)confidence and ^(D)not ^[a]draw back from Him in shame ^[b]at His ^(E)coming.
