²⁰The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

²⁶But if we say, ‘From man,’ ^(A)we are afraid of the crowd, for they all hold that John was ^(B)a prophet.”

²⁶But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”^(A)
