41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was (A)filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, (B)“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 (C)Blessed is she who [a]believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

46 And Mary said:
(D)“My soul [b]magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has (E)rejoiced in (F)God my Savior.
48 For (G)He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth (H)all generations will call me blessed.
49 For He who is mighty (I)has done great things for me,
And (J)holy is His name.
50 And (K)His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
51 (L)He has shown strength with His arm;
(M)He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 (N)He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.

41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, her baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by Him. 42 And she exclaimed loudly, “Blessed [worthy to be praised] are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And how has it happened to me, that the mother of my Lord would come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed [spiritually fortunate and favored by God] is she who believed and confidently trusted that there would be a fulfillment of the things that were spoken to her [by the angel sent] from the Lord.”

“My soul magnifies and exalts the Lord,
47
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

“For He has looked [with loving care] on the humble state of His maidservant;
For behold, from now on all generations will count me blessed and happy and favored by God!

And holy is His name [to be worshiped in His purity, majesty, and glory].

“And His mercy is upon generation after generation
Toward those who [stand in great awe of God and] fear Him.(A)

“He has done mighty deeds with His [powerful] arm;
He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart.

42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.
51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;
