¹⁹ For ^(A)the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God. For it is written: “He is ^(B)the one who catches the wise by their craftiness”;

² but we have renounced the ^(A)things hidden because of shame, not walking in trickery nor ^(B)distorting the word of God, but by the open proclamation of the truth ^(C)commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in the sight of God.

³ But I am afraid that, as the ^(A)serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
