⁷ At that time, Solomon built a high place^(A) for Chemosh,^(B) the detestable idol of Moab, and for Milcom,^[a](C) the detestable idol of the Ammonites, on the hill across from Jerusalem.^(D)

²⁵ “House of Israel, was it sacrifices and grain offerings that you presented to Me during the 40 years in the wilderness?^{(A) 26} But you have taken up^[a] Sakkuth^[b][c] your king^[d] and Kaiwan^[e] your star god, images you have made for yourselves.^{(B) 27} So I will send you into exile beyond Damascus.”^(C) Yahweh, the God of Hosts, is His name.^(D) He has spoken.
