⁸ Therefore, the wrath of the Lord was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he made them an object of terror, horror, and mockery,^[a](A) as you see with your own eyes.

⁸ I will make this city desolate, an object of scorn. Everyone who passes by it will be appalled and scoff because of all its wounds.^(A)
