¹² We are not commending ourselves to you ^(A)again, but are giving you an ^(B)opportunity to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.

¹² For we do not presume to rank or compare ourselves with ^[a]some of those who ^(A)commend themselves; but when they ^[b]measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they have no understanding.

¹⁸ For it is not the one who ^(A)commends himself that is approved, but the one ^(B)whom the Lord commends.

¹¹ I have become ^(A)foolish; you yourselves compelled me. Actually I should have been commended by you, since I was ^(B)in no respect inferior to the ^[a]most eminent apostles, even though ^(C)I am a nobody.
