The Fall of Samaria

In the ninth year of Hoshea,(A) the king of Assyria captured Samaria. He deported(B) the Israelites to Assyria and settled them in Halah and by the Habor, Gozan’s river, and in the cities of the Medes.(C)

26 So the God of Israel put it into the mind of Pul(A) (that is, Tiglath-pileser[a]) king of Assyria to take the Reubenites, Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh into exile. He took them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and Gozan’s river, where they are until today.
