⁶ And now I stand on trial for the hope^(A) of the promise^(B) made by God to our fathers, ⁷ the promise our 12 tribes hope to attain as they earnestly serve Him night and day. King Agrippa, I am being accused by the Jews because of this hope.^(C)

²⁰ For this reason I’ve asked to see you and speak to you. In fact, it is for the hope of Israel that I’m wearing this chain.”^(A)

² We have also obtained access through Him^(A) by faith^[a] into this grace in which we stand,^(B) and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

²³ And not only that,^(A) but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits^(B)—we also groan within ourselves,^(C) eagerly waiting for adoption,^(D) the redemption of our bodies.^{(E) 24} Now in this hope^(F) we were saved, yet hope^(G) that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see,^(H) we eagerly wait for it with patience.

¹⁸ I pray that the perception of your mind^[a] may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope^(A) of His calling,^(B) what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints,

⁵ because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You have already heard about this hope in the message of truth,^(A) the gospel

³ We recall, in the presence of our God and Father,^(A) your work of faith,^(B) labor of love, and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ,^(C)
