What God Requires

¹² “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you except to fear^(A) the Lord your God by walking in all His ways, to love Him, and to worship the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul?

²⁰ You are to fear Yahweh your God and worship Him. Remain faithful^[a] to Him and take oaths in His name.^(A)

⁴ You must follow the Lord your God and fear Him. You must keep His commands and listen to His voice; you must worship Him and remain faithful^[a] to Him.^(A)

The Covenant Renewal

¹⁴ “Therefore, fear the Lord and worship Him in sincerity and truth.^(A) Get rid of the gods your fathers worshiped^(B) beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship Yahweh.

²⁴ Above all, fear the Lord and worship Him faithfully with all your heart; consider the great things He has done for you.^(A)

¹⁰ Then Jesus told him, “Go away,^[a] Satan! For it is written:

⁸ And Jesus answered him,^[a] “It is written:

⁷ He spoke with a loud voice: “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
