¹⁹ This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you^(A) that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.^(B) Now choose life, so that you and your children may live ²⁰ and that you may love^(C) the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life,^(D) and he will give^(E) you many years in the land^(F) he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

⁴⁶ he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day,^(A) so that you may command^(B) your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ They are not just idle words for you—they are your life.^(C) By them you will live long^(D) in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

¹⁵ and how from infancy^(A) you have known the Holy Scriptures,^(B) which are able to make you wise^(C) for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
