³⁵ The Israelites ate manna for forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate manna until they reached the border of the land of Canaan.^(A)

⁴⁸ I am the bread of life. ⁴⁹ Your ancestors ate the manna^(A) in the wilderness,^(B) and they died. ⁵⁰ This is the bread that comes down from heaven so that anyone may eat of it and not die.^{(C) 51} I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
