³² Now if you would only forgive their sin! But if you will not, then blot me out of the book that you have written.”^{[a] 33} The Lord answered Moses: Only the one who has sinned against me will I blot out of my book.

Chapter 12

The Resurrection

²⁰ Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”^(A)

⁵ “‘“The victor will thus be dressed in white,^[a] and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name in the presence of my Father and of his angels.^(A)

⁸ All the inhabitants of the earth will worship it, all whose names were not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life, which belongs to the Lamb who was slain.^(A)

^8 [a](A)The beast that you saw existed once but now exists no longer. It will come up from the abyss and is headed for destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world shall be amazed when they see the beast, because it existed once but exists no longer, and yet it will come again.

¹² I saw the dead, the great and the lowly, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. Then another scroll was opened, the book of life.^[a] The dead were judged according to their deeds, by what was written in the scrolls.^(A)

¹⁵ Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the pool of fire.

²⁷ but nothing unclean will enter it, nor any[one] who does abominable things or tells lies. Only those will enter whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.^(A)
