3 Now ^(A)the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?”

³ But I am afraid that, as the ^(A)serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

¹⁵ And the ^(A)serpent hurled water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood.

² And he took hold of the ^(A)dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and ^(B)bound him for a thousand years;
