²¹ So he fled^(A) with all he had, crossed the Euphrates River,^(B) and headed for the hill country of Gilead.^(C)

²⁶ Our children and wives, our flocks and herds will remain here in the cities of Gilead.^(A)

³⁶ From Aroer^(A) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as far as Gilead,^(B) not one town was too strong for us. The Lord our God gave^(C) us all of them.
