²⁴ Therefore, as tongues of fire^(A) lick up straw^(B)
    and as dry grass sinks down in the flames,
so their roots will decay^(C)
    and their flowers blow away like dust;^(D)
for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty
    and spurned the word^(E) of the Holy One^(F) of Israel.

¹⁹ By the wrath^(A) of the Lord Almighty
    the land will be scorched^(B)
and the people will be fuel for the fire;^(C)
    they will not spare one another.^(D)

¹¹ Lord, your hand is lifted high,^(A)
    but they do not see^(B) it.
Let them see your zeal^(C) for your people and be put to shame;^(D)
    let the fire^(E) reserved for your enemies consume them.

¹¹ You conceive^(A) chaff,
    you give birth^(B) to straw;
    your breath is a fire^(C) that consumes you.
¹² The peoples will be burned to ashes;^(D)
    like cut thornbushes^(E) they will be set ablaze.^(F)”

¹³ You who are far away,^(G) hear^(H) what I have done;
    you who are near, acknowledge my power!
¹⁴ The sinners^(I) in Zion are terrified;
    trembling^(J) grips the godless:
“Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire?^(K)
    Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?”
