⁴ when the Lord has washed away the filth^(A) of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodguilt^(B) from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment^(C) and a spirit of burning.^(D)

³³ I didn’t know Him, but He^[a] who sent me to baptize with^[b] water told me, ‘The One you see the Spirit descending and resting on—He is the One who baptizes with^[c] the Holy Spirit.’^(A)

³ And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them. ⁴ Then they were all filled^(A) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.^(B)

¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’^(A)
