13 “For (A)from the least of them to the greatest of them,
Everyone is (B)greedy for gain,
And from the prophet to the priest
Everyone deals falsely.
14 They have (C)healed the brokenness of My people superficially,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
But there is no peace.
15 Were they (D)ashamed because of the abomination they had done?
They were not ashamed at all,
Nor did they know even how to be ashamed.
Therefore they will fall among those who fall;
At the time that I punish them,
They will collapse,” says the Lord.

prophets and priests alike,
all practice deceit.(C)
14 They dress the wound of my people
as though it were not serious.
‘Peace, peace,’ they say,
when there is no peace.(D)
15 Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct?
No, they have no shame at all;
they do not even know how to blush.(E)
So they will fall among the fallen;
they will be brought down when I punish(F) them,”
says the Lord.

15 Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, although it was not I who sent them—yet they keep saying: ‘There will be no sword or famine in this land’—(A)by sword and famine those prophets shall meet their end! 16 And the people to whom they are prophesying will be (B)thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and there will be no one to (C)bury them—neither them, nor their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters. For I will (D)pour out their own wickedness upon them.

15 Therefore this is what the Lord says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, ‘No sword or famine will touch this land.’ Those same prophets will perish(A) by sword and famine.(B) 16 And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword. There will be no one to bury(C) them, their wives, their sons and their daughters.(D) I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve.(E)
