²² In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him;^(A)
    the full force of misery will come upon him.^(B)

²⁸ A flood will carry off his house,^(A)
    rushing waters^[a] on the day of God’s wrath.^(B)

³⁰ In that day^(A) they will roar over it
    like the roaring of the sea.^(B)
And if one looks at the land,
    there is only darkness^(C) and distress;^(D)
    even the sun will be darkened^(E) by clouds.
