³ Therefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent word to Hoham king of Hebron, Piram king of Jarmuth, Japhia king of Lachish, and Debir king of Eglon, saying,

¹⁹ A conspiracy was formed against him in Jerusalem,^(A) and he fled to Lachish.^(B) However, men were sent after him to Lachish, and they put him to death there.

² Then the king of Assyria sent the Rabshakeh, along with a massive army, from Lachish^(A) to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. The Assyrian stood near the conduit of the upper pool, by the road to the Fuller’s Field.^(B)
