¹⁶ “Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord, ‘What is this breach of faith that you have committed against the God of Israel in turning away this day from following the Lord by building yourselves an altar this day ^(A)in rebellion against the Lord?

¹⁸ that you too must turn away this day from following the Lord? And if ^(A)you too rebel against the Lord today then tomorrow ^(B)he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel. ¹⁹ But now, if the land of your possession is unclean, pass over into the Lord's land ^(C)where the Lord's tabernacle stands, and take for yourselves a possession among us. ^(D)Only do not rebel against the Lord or make us as rebels by building for yourselves an altar other than the altar of the Lord our God.

⁹ Only ^(A)do not rebel against the Lord. And ^(B)do not fear the people of the land, for ^(C)they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”

⁸ “And you shall say to them, Any one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who ^(A)offers a burnt offering or sacrifice ⁹ and ^(B)does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to offer it to the Lord, ^(C)that man shall be cut off from his people.

^13 (A)Take care that you do not offer your burnt offerings at any place that you see, ¹⁴ but at ^(B)the place that the Lord will choose in one of your tribes, there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all that I am commanding you.
