¹³He gathered to himself the Ammonites and the ^(A)Amalekites, and went and defeated Israel. And they took possession of ^(B)the city of palms.

¹³Getting the Ammonites^(A) and Amalekites^(B) to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.^[a]^(C)

³For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and ^(A)the Amalekites and ^(B)the people of the East would come up against them.

³Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites^(A) and other eastern peoples^(B) invaded the country.
