Dividing the Spoils

²⁵ The Lord said to Moses, ²⁶ “You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads^(A) of the community are to count all the people^(B) and animals that were captured.^{(C) 27} Divide^(D) the spoils equally between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.

⁸ saying, “Return to your homes with your great wealth—with large herds of livestock,^(A) with silver, gold, bronze and iron,^(B) and a great quantity of clothing—and divide^(C) the plunder^(D) from your enemies with your fellow Israelites.”
