¹² for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
    as ^(A)a father the son in whom he delights.

^(A)“My son, ^(B)do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
    nor be weary when reproved by him.
⁶ For ^(C)the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
    and chastises every son whom he receives.”

^17 (A)Discipline your son, and he will give you rest;
    he will give delight to your heart.

^10 (A)When I please, ^(B)I will discipline them,
    and nations shall be gathered against them
    when they are bound up for ^(C)their double iniquity.
