¹⁴ Consider the ramparts, examine its citadels,
    that you may tell future generations:^(A)
15 That this is God,
    our God for ever and ever.^[a]
    He will lead us until death.

¹⁸ Now that I am old and gray,^(A)
    do not forsake me, God,
That I may proclaim your might
    to all generations yet to come,^(B)

⁶ That the next generation might come to know,
    children yet to be born.^(A)
In turn they were to recount them to their children,

¹⁹ Let this be written for the next generation,
    for a people not yet born,
    that they may praise the Lord:^(A)

¹⁰ But it was the Lord’s will to crush him with pain.
By making his life as a reparation offering,^[a]
    he shall see his offspring, shall lengthen his days,
    and the Lord’s will shall be accomplished through him.
