²⁹They ate till they were gorged—^(A)
he had given them what they craved.

²⁹So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

¹⁴In the desert^(A) they gave in to their craving;
in the wilderness^(B) they put God to the test.^(C)

¹⁴But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

¹⁵So he gave them^(A) what they asked for,
but sent a wasting disease^(B) among them.

¹⁵And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
