²⁶ Therefore he ^(A)raised his hand and swore to them
    that he would make them fall in the wilderness,

⁴⁰ For ^(A)I lift up my hand to heaven
    and swear, As I live for ever,

⁸ The Lord has sworn ^(A)by his right hand
    and by his mighty arm:
“I will not again give ^(B)your grain
    to be food for your enemies,
^(C)and foreigners shall not drink your wine
    for which you have laboured;
