18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of (A)hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. (B)Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 (C)The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21 And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 (D)There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from (E)between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

A Lament over the King of Tyre

11 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me: 12 (A)“Son of man, (B)raise a lamentation over (C)the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God:

“You were the signet of perfection,[a]
    (D)full of wisdom and (E)perfect in beauty.
13 You were in (F)Eden, the garden of God;
    (G)every precious stone was your covering,
(H)sardius, topaz, and diamond,
    beryl, onyx, and jasper,
sapphire,[b] (I)emerald, and carbuncle;
    and crafted in gold were your settings
    and your engravings.[c]
(J)On the day that you were created
    they were prepared.
14 You were an anointed (K)guardian cherub.
    I placed you;[d] you were on (L)the holy mountain of God;
    in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.
15 You were blameless in your ways
    (M)from the day you were created,
    till unrighteousness was found in you.
16 In the abundance of (N)your trade
    you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned;
so I cast you as a profane thing from (O)the mountain of God,
    and I destroyed you,[e] (P)O guardian cherub,
    from the midst of the stones of fire.
