The Great White Throne Judgment
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face (A)the earth and the heaven fled away. (B)And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, (C)small and great, standing before [a]God, (D)and books were opened. And another (E)book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged (F)according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, (G)and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. (H)And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then (I)Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. (J)This is the second [b]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life (K)was cast into the lake of fire.

11 And I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them [for this heaven and earth are passing away].(A) 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in the books [that is, everything done while on earth].(B) 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and Hades (the realm of the dead) surrendered the dead who were in them; and they were judged and sentenced, every one according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades [the realm of the dead] were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire [the eternal separation from God].(C) 15 And if [a]anyone’s name was not found [b]written in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire.

The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave[a] gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. 15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
