⁵ However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.^(A)

⁹ Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised?^(A) We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.^(B)

²² This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”^(A)

⁶ Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.^(A)

⁶ So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”^[a](A)

²³ And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”^[a](A) and he was called God’s friend.^(B)
