⁸ But now you also, ^(A)rid yourselves of all of them: ^(B)anger, wrath, malice, slander, and ^(C)obscene speech from your mouth. ^9 [a](D)Do not lie to one another, since you ^(E)stripped off the old ^[b]self with its evil practices, ¹⁰ and have ^(F)put on the new self, which is being ^[c](G)renewed to a true knowledge ^(H)according to the image of the One who ^(I)created it—

²¹ if indeed you ^(A)have heard Him and have ^(B)been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, ²² that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to ^(C)rid yourselves of the ^(D)old ^[a]self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the ^(E)lusts of deceit, ²³ and that you are to be ^(F)renewed in the spirit of your minds,

⁶ knowing this, that our ^(A)old ^[a]self was ^(B)crucified with Him, in order that our ^(C)body of sin might be ^[b]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
