40 ہم لوگوں کو قیدی کے روپ میں لے جا ئے جانے کے پچیسویں برس کے سال کے آغاز میں (اکتوبر) مہینے کے دسویں دن خداوند کی قوت مجھ میں آئی۔اہلِ بابل کی جانب سے اسرائیل پر قبضہ کر نے کے چودھویں برس کا یہ وہی دن تھا۔ رو یا میں خداوند مجھے وہاں لے گیا۔

2 رو یا میں خدا مجھے اسرائیل ملک لے گیا۔ اس نے مجھے ایک بہت اونچے پہاڑ پر اتارا پہاڑ پر کچھ مکانا ت تھے جو شہر کی مانند نظر آتا تھا۔ 3 خداوند مجھے وہا ں لے گیا۔ وہاں ایک شخص تھا جو جھلکتے ہو ئے پیتل کی طرح تھا۔ وہ شخص سن کی ڈوری اور پیمائش کا چھڑ ہا تھ میں لئے پھاٹک پر کھڑا تھا۔ 4 اس شخص نے مجھ سے کہا، “اے ابن آدم!اپنی آنکھو ں اور کانو ں کا استعمال کرو۔ ان چیزو ں کی طرف دیکھو اور میری سنو۔ جو میں تمہیں دکھا تا ہوں اس پر توجّہ دو۔ کیونکہ تم یہا ں لا ئے گئے ہو تا کہ میں تمہیں وہ چیزیں دکھا سکوں۔ تم اسرائیل کے گھرانے کو وہ سب کچھ بتانا جسے تمہیں دکھا یا گیا۔”

5 میں نے ایک دیوار دیکھی جو ہیکل کو چاروں جانب سے گھیرتی ہے۔ اور اس شخص کے ہا تھ میں ایک چھڑ تھا جو چھ ہا تھ لمبا تھا۔ اور ہا تھ کی لمبا ئی بڑی تھی۔اس نے دیوار کی چو ڑا ئی ناپی۔ وہ ایک چھڑ چو ڑی اور ایک چھڑ لمبی تھی۔

6 تب ایک شخص مشرقی دروازے پر گیا۔ا س شخص نے اس کی سیڑھیوں اور پھاٹکو ں کے آستانہ کو نا پا۔اس کی چو ڑا ئی بھی ایک چھڑ تھی۔ 7 محافظوں کا کمرہ بھی ایک چھڑ لمبا اور ایک چھڑ چو ڑا تھا۔ کمرو ں کے بیچ کی دیوار وں کی مو ٹا ئی پانچ ہا تھ تھی۔ چو کھٹ کی طرف پھاٹک کا پلیٹ فارم ایک چھڑ تھا۔ 8 تب اس شخص نے گھر سے لگے پھاٹک کے داخلی حصّہ کو نا پا یہ بھی ایک چھڑ چو ڑا تھا۔ 9 تب اس شخص نے پھاٹک کے داخلی حصّہ کو نا پا یہ آٹھ ہا تھ تھا۔اس شخص نے ستون کو نا پا جو دو ہا تھ چو ڑا تھا۔ پھاٹک کی چو کھٹ اندر تھی۔ 10 پھاٹک کی ہر جانب تین چھو ٹے چھو ٹے کمرے تھے۔ یہ تینوں چھو ٹے کمرے ہر جانب سے ایک ہی پیمائش کے تھے۔ اور اِدھر اُدھر کے ستونوں کا ایک ہی ناپ تھا۔ 11 اس شخص نے پھاٹک کے دروازو ں کی چو ڑا ئی نا پی۔ یہ دس ہا تھ چو ڑا اور لمبا ئی میں تیرہ ہا تھ تھا۔ 12 اور ہر ایک دیوار کے آگے ایک ہا تھ اونچی اور ایک ہا تھ موٹی ایک دیوار تھی۔ اور جو کمرے تھے وہ چھ ہا تھ لمبے اور چھ ہا تھ چو ڑے تھے۔

13 اس شخص نے پھا ٹک کو ایک کمرے کی چھت سے دوسرے کمرے کی چھت تک ناپا۔ یہ پچیس ہاتھ لمبا تھا۔ پھا ٹک کے مقابل دروازہ تھا۔ 14 [a]اس شخص نے دیواروں کے تمام حصّوں کو ناپا جس میں داخلی حصہ کی دیواریں بھی شامل تھیں۔ یہ ساٹھ ہاتھ چوڑی تھی۔ داخلی حصہ کے چاروں جانب آنگن تھا۔ 15 باہری پھاٹک سے لیکر اندرونی پھاٹک کی چوکھٹ تک پچاس ہاتھ کا فاصلہ تھا۔ 16 محافظوں کے کمرے کے اوپر، کنارے کی دیواروں اور دہلیز میں چھوٹی چھوٹی کھڑ کیاں تھیں۔ کھڑکیوں کے چوڑے حصے کا رخ چو کھٹ کی طرف تھا۔ ستونوں پر کھجور کے درختوں کی نقاشی کی ہوئی تھی۔

باہری آنگن

17 تب وہ شخص مجھے باہر کے آنگن میں لایا۔ میں نے کمرے اور پکے راستے کو دیکھا۔ وہ آنگن کی چاروں جانب تھے۔ پکے راستے پر سامنے تیس کمرے تھے۔ 18 پکا راستہ پھا ٹک کے قریب سے گیا تھا۔ پکا راستہ اتنا ہی طویل تھا جتنا پھاٹک تھا۔ یہ نیچے کا راستہ تھا۔ 19 تب اس شخص نے پھاٹک کے سامنے سے لیکر آنگن کی دیوار تک کے فاصلے کو ناپا۔ یہ شمال اور مشرق کی طرف سو ہاتھ تھے۔

20 اس شخص نے باہر کا آنگن جس کا رخ شمال کی جانب ہے پھاٹک کی لمباٹی اور چوڑائی کو ناپا۔ 21 اسکے ایک طرف تین کمرے اور دوسری طرف تین کمرے تھے۔ اور اسکے ستون اور محراب پہلے پھاٹک کے ناپ کے مطابق تھے۔ اسکی لمبائی پچاس ہاتھ تھی۔ 22 اسکے دریچے اور اسکی چو کھٹ اور اسکی کھجور کے درختوں کی نقاشی کی ناپ وہی تھی جو مشرقی پھاٹک کی تھی۔ پھا ٹک تک جانے کے لئے سات سیڑھیاں تھیں۔ پھاٹک کا داخلی حصہ یعنی دہلیز اندر تھی۔ 23 شمال کے پھا ٹک سے آنگن کے اس پار اندرونی آنگن تک جانے کے لئے ایک پھاٹک تھا۔ یہ مشرقی پھاٹک کی مانند تھا۔ اس شخص نے ایک پھاٹک سے دوسرے پھاٹک کے فاصلہ کو ناپا۔ یہ ایک پھاٹک سے دوسرے پھاٹک تک کا فاصلہ سو ہاتھ تھا۔

24 تب وہ شخص مجھے جنوب کی جانب لے گیا۔ میں نے جنوب میں ایک دروازہ دیکھا۔ اس شخص نے ستونوں اور دہلیز کو ناپا۔ جو ناپ میں اتنے ہی تھے جتنے دیگر پھاٹک۔ 25 پھاٹک اور چوکھٹ کی چاروں جانب دوسرے کی مانند کھڑ کیاں تھیں۔ یہ پچاس ہاتھ لمبی اور پچیس ہاتھ چوڑی تھی۔ 26 سات سیڑھیاں اس پھاٹک تک پہنچا تی تھیں۔ اس کی چوکھٹ اندر کو تھی۔ ہر ایک جانب ایک ستون پر کھجور کے درختوں کی نقاشی تھی۔ 27 اندرونی آنگن کے جنوب کی جانب ایک ایک ستون پر کھجور کے درختوں کی نقاشی تھی۔ ۲۷ اندرونی آنگن کے جنوب کی جانب ایک پھاٹک تھا۔ اس شخص نے جنوب کی جانب ایک پھاٹک سے دوسرے پھاٹک تک ناپا۔ یہ سو ہاتھ تھا۔

اندرونی آنگن

28 تب وہ شخص مجھے جنوبی پھاٹک سے ہوکر اندر آنگن میں لے آیا۔ جنوبی پھاٹک کا ناپ اتنا ہی تھا جتنا دیگر پھاٹکوں کا۔ 29 جنوبی پھاٹک کے کمرے، ستون اور چوکھٹ کا ناپ اتنا ہی تھا جتنا دیگر پھاٹکوں کا تھا۔ کھڑ کیاں پھاٹک اور دہلیز چاروں جانب تھی۔ پھاٹک پچاس ہاتھ لمبا اور پچیس ہاتھ چوڑا تھا۔ 30 اسکی چاروں جانب دہلیز تھی۔ دہلیز پچیس ہاتھ لمبی اور پانچ ہاتھ چوڑی تھی۔ 31 جنوبی پھاٹک کے دہلیز کا رخ بیرونی آنگن کی جانب تھا۔ اس کے ستونوں پر کھجور کے پیڑوں کی نقاشی تھی۔ اسکی سیڑھی کے آٹھ زینے تھے۔

32 وہ شخص مجھے مشرق کی جانب کے اندرونی آنگن میں لایا۔ اس نے پھاٹک کو ناپا۔ اس کا ناپ وہی تھا۔ جو دیگر پھاٹکوں کا تھا۔ 33 مشرقی جانب کے کمرے، دہلیز اور ستون کے ناپ وہی تھے جو دیگر پھاٹکوں کے تھے۔ پھاٹک اور دہلیز کے چاروں جانب کھڑ کیاں تھیں۔ مشرقی پھاٹک پچاس ہاتھ لمبا پچیس ہاتھ چوڑا تھا۔ 34 اسکی دہلیز کا رخ بیرونی آنگن کے جانب تھا۔ دونوں جانب کے ستونوں پر کھجور کے پیڑوں کے نقاشی تھی۔ اس کی سیڑھی میں آٹھ زینے تھے۔

35 تب وہ شخص مجھے شمالی پھاٹک پر لایا۔ اس نے اسے ناپا۔ اس کی ناپ وہ تھی جو دیگر پھاٹکوں کی، یعنی 36 اس کے کمروں، ستونوں اور دہلیز کی چاروں جانب کھڑ کیاں تھیں۔ یہ پچاس ہاتھ لمبا اور پچیس ہاتھ چوڑا تھا۔ 37 ستونو ں کا رخ بیرونی آنگن کی جانب تھا۔ ہر ایک جانب کے ستونوں پر کھجور کے پیڑوں کی نقاشی تھی اور اسکی سیڑھی کے آٹھ زینے تھے۔

قربانی تیار کرنے کے کمرے

38 ایک کمرہ تھا جس کا دروازہ دہلیز کے پاس تھا۔ یہ وہاں تھا۔ جہاں کاہن جلانے کی قربانی کے لئے جانوروں کو نہلاتے ہیں۔ 39 دہلیز کی دونوں جانب دو میزیں تھیں۔ جلانے کی قربانی، گناہ کی قربانی اور جرم کی قربانی کے لئے پیش کئے گئے جانوروں کو انہی میزوں پر ذبح کئے جاتے تھے۔ 40 دہلیز کے باہر جہاں شمالی پھا ٹک کھلتا ہے، دوچیزیں تھیں۔ اور پھاٹک کے دہلیز کے دوسری جانب دو میزیں تھیں۔ 41 پھاٹک کے اندر کل چار میزیں تھیں۔ چار میزیں پھاٹک کے باہر تھیں۔ کل ملاکر آٹھ میزیں تھیں۔ کاہن ان میزوں پر قربانی کے لئے جانور ذبح کرتے تھے۔ 42 جلانے کی قربانی کے لئے تراشے ہوئے پتھروں کی چار میزیں تھیں۔ یہ میزیں ڈیڑھ ہاتھ لمبی، دیڑھ ہاتھ چوڑی اور ایک ہاتھ اونچی تھی۔ کاہن جلانے کی قربانی اور دوسری قربانی کے لئے جانوروں کو مارنے کے ان اوزاروں کو ان میزوں پر رکھتے تھے۔ 43 دیواروں کی چاروں طرف چار انچ کے ہک لگی تھی اور قربانی کا گوشت میزوں پر تھا۔

کاہنوں کے کمرے

44 اندرونی آنگن کے پھاٹک کے باہر گلو کاروں کے کمرے تھے۔ ایک کمرہ شمالی پھاٹک سے جڑا ہوا تھا۔ اس کا رخ جنوب کی طرف تھا۔ دوسرا کمرہ جنوبی پھاٹک کے ساتھ تھا۔ اس کا رخ شمال کی طرف تھا۔ 45 اس شخص نے مجھ سے کہا، “یہ کمرہ جس کا رخ جنوب کی طرف ہے ان کاہنوں کے لئے ہے جو ہیکل کی نگہبانی کرتے ہیں۔ 46 لیکن وہ کمرہ جس کا رخ جنوب کی طرف ہے ان کاہنوں کے لئے ہے جو قربان گاہ کے ذمہ دار ہیں۔ یہ سبھی کاہن بنی صدوق اور بنی لاوی میں سے ہیں۔ وہ خدا وند کے حضور خدا وند کی خدمت کرنے آئے۔ ”

47 اس شخص نے آنگن کو ناپا جو کہ سو ہاتھ لمبا اور سو ہاتھ چوڑا تھا۔ یہ مربع نما تھا اور قربان گاہ ہیکل کے سامنے تھی۔

ہیکل کی دہلیز

48 وہ شخص مجھے ہیکل کی دہلیز میں لایا اور اسکے ہر ایک ستون کو ناپا۔ یہ ستون ہر جانب سے پانچ ہاتھ تھا۔ پھاٹک چودہ ہاتھ چوڑا تھا۔ پھاٹک کے قریب کی دیواریں ہر جانب تین ہاتھ تھیں۔ 49 دہلیز بیس ہاتھ لمبی اور بارہ ہاتھ چوڑی تھی۔ دہلیز تک پہنچنے کے لئے دس زینے بنے ہوئے تھے۔ دیواروں کو سہارا دینے کے لئے ہر طرف ایک ستون تھا۔

The Temple Area Restored

40 In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after the fall of the city(A)—on that very day the hand of the Lord was on me(B) and he took me there. 2 In visions(C) of God he took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain,(D) on whose south side were some buildings that looked like a city. 3 He took me there, and I saw a man whose appearance was like bronze;(E) he was standing in the gateway with a linen cord and a measuring rod(F) in his hand. 4 The man said to me, “Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you,(G) for that is why you have been brought here. Tell(H) the people of Israel everything you see.(I)”

The East Gate to the Outer Court

5 I saw a wall completely surrounding the temple area. The length of the measuring rod in the man’s hand was six long cubits,[a] each of which was a cubit and a handbreadth. He measured(J) the wall; it was one measuring rod thick and one rod high.

6 Then he went to the east gate.(K) He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate; it was one rod deep. 7 The alcoves(L) for the guards were one rod long and one rod wide, and the projecting walls between the alcoves were five cubits[b] thick. And the threshold of the gate next to the portico facing the temple was one rod deep.

8 Then he measured the portico of the gateway; 9 it[c] was eight cubits[d] deep and its jambs were two cubits[e] thick. The portico of the gateway faced the temple.

10 Inside the east gate were three alcoves on each side; the three had the same measurements, and the faces of the projecting walls on each side had the same measurements. 11 Then he measured the width of the entrance of the gateway; it was ten cubits and its length was thirteen cubits.[f] 12 In front of each alcove was a wall one cubit high, and the alcoves were six cubits square. 13 Then he measured the gateway from the top of the rear wall of one alcove to the top of the opposite one; the distance was twenty-five cubits[g] from one parapet opening to the opposite one. 14 He measured along the faces of the projecting walls all around the inside of the gateway—sixty cubits.[h] The measurement was up to the portico[i] facing the courtyard.[j](M) 15 The distance from the entrance of the gateway to the far end of its portico was fifty cubits.[k] 16 The alcoves and the projecting walls inside the gateway were surmounted by narrow parapet openings all around, as was the portico; the openings all around faced inward. The faces of the projecting walls were decorated with palm trees.(N)

The Outer Court

17 Then he brought me into the outer court.(O) There I saw some rooms and a pavement that had been constructed all around the court; there were thirty rooms(P) along the pavement.(Q) 18 It abutted the sides of the gateways and was as wide as they were long; this was the lower pavement. 19 Then he measured the distance from the inside of the lower gateway to the outside of the inner court;(R) it was a hundred cubits[l](S) on the east side as well as on the north.

The North Gate

20 Then he measured the length and width of the north gate, leading into the outer court. 21 Its alcoves(T)—three on each side—its projecting walls and its portico(U) had the same measurements as those of the first gateway. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide. 22 Its openings, its portico(V) and its palm tree decorations had the same measurements as those of the gate facing east. Seven steps led up to it, with its portico opposite them.(W) 23 There was a gate to the inner court facing the north gate, just as there was on the east. He measured from one gate to the opposite one; it was a hundred cubits.(X)

The South Gate

24 Then he led me to the south side and I saw the south gate. He measured its jambs and its portico, and they had the same measurements(Y) as the others. 25 The gateway and its portico had narrow openings all around, like the openings of the others. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.(Z) 26 Seven steps led up to it, with its portico opposite them; it had palm tree decorations on the faces of the projecting walls on each side.(AA) 27 The inner court(AB) also had a gate facing south, and he measured from this gate to the outer gate on the south side; it was a hundred cubits.(AC)

The Gates to the Inner Court

28 Then he brought me into the inner court through the south gate, and he measured the south gate; it had the same measurements(AD) as the others. 29 Its alcoves,(AE) its projecting walls and its portico had the same measurements as the others. The gateway and its portico had openings all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.(AF) 30 (The porticoes(AG) of the gateways around the inner court were twenty-five cubits wide and five cubits deep.) 31 Its portico(AH) faced the outer court; palm trees decorated its jambs, and eight steps led up to it.(AI)

32 Then he brought me to the inner court on the east side, and he measured the gateway; it had the same measurements(AJ) as the others. 33 Its alcoves,(AK) its projecting walls and its portico had the same measurements as the others. The gateway and its portico had openings all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide. 34 Its portico(AL) faced the outer court; palm trees decorated the jambs on either side, and eight steps led up to it.

35 Then he brought me to the north gate(AM) and measured it. It had the same measurements(AN) as the others, 36 as did its alcoves,(AO) its projecting walls and its portico, and it had openings all around. It was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide. 37 Its portico[m](AP) faced the outer court; palm trees decorated the jambs on either side, and eight steps led up to it.(AQ)

The Rooms for Preparing Sacrifices

38 A room with a doorway was by the portico in each of the inner gateways, where the burnt offerings(AR) were washed. 39 In the portico of the gateway were two tables on each side, on which the burnt offerings,(AS) sin offerings[n](AT) and guilt offerings(AU) were slaughtered.(AV) 40 By the outside wall of the portico of the gateway, near the steps at the entrance of the north gateway were two tables, and on the other side of the steps were two tables. 41 So there were four tables on one side of the gateway and four on the other—eight tables in all—on which the sacrifices were slaughtered. 42 There were also four tables of dressed stone(AW) for the burnt offerings, each a cubit and a half long, a cubit and a half wide and a cubit high.[o] On them were placed the utensils for slaughtering the burnt offerings and the other sacrifices.(AX) 43 And double-pronged hooks, each a handbreadth[p] long, were attached to the wall all around. The tables were for the flesh of the offerings.

The Rooms for the Priests

44 Outside the inner gate, within the inner court, were two rooms, one[q] at the side of the north gate and facing south, and another at the side of the south[r] gate and facing north. 45 He said to me, “The room facing south is for the priests who guard the temple,(AY) 46 and the room facing north(AZ) is for the priests who guard the altar.(BA) These are the sons of Zadok,(BB) who are the only Levites who may draw near to the Lord to minister before him.(BC)”

47 Then he measured the court: It was square—a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide. And the altar was in front of the temple.(BD)

The New Temple

48 He brought me to the portico of the temple(BE) and measured the jambs of the portico; they were five cubits wide on either side. The width of the entrance was fourteen cubits[s] and its projecting walls were[t] three cubits[u] wide on either side. 49 The portico(BF) was twenty cubits[v] wide, and twelve[w] cubits[x] from front to back. It was reached by a flight of stairs,[y] and there were pillars(BG) on each side of the jambs.
