ہر کام کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے
3 ہر چیز کا ایک صحیح وقت ہے اور اس زمین پر ہر بات ایک صحیح وقت پر ہو تی ہے۔
2 پیدا ہو نے کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے
اور مرجانے کا ایک وقت مقرر ہے
درخت لگانے کا بھی ایک وقت مقرر ہے
اور لگا ئے ہو ئے کو اکھاڑنے کاایک وقت مقرر ہے۔
3 بیمار نے ہونے کا بھی وقت مقرّرہے
شفا دینے کا بھی وقت ہے۔
تبا ہ کر نے کا بھی وقت مقرر ہے
اور بنانے کا بھی وقت مقرر ہے۔
4 رونے کا بھی وقت ہے
اور ہنسنے کا بھی وقت ہے۔
غمزدہ رہنے کا بھی وقت ہے
اور خوشی سے ناچنے کا بھی وقت مقرر ہے۔
5 پتھر پھینکنے
اور پھر اسے جمع کرنے کا بھی ایک وقت ہے۔
گلے ملنے
اور پھر دور رہنے کا بھی ایک وقت مقرر ہے۔
6 حاصل کر نے کا ایک وقت ہے
اور کھو دینے کا بھی ایک وقت ہے
رکھ چھوڑنے کا ایک وقت ہے
اور پھر پھینک دینے کا بھی ایک وقت ہے۔
7 پھاڑنے کا ایک وقت ہے
اور سینے کا ایک وقت ہے
چپ رہنے کا ایک وقت ہے
اور بولنے کا ایک وقت ہے۔
8 محبت کا ایک وقت ہے
اور عداوت کا ایک وقت ہے
جنگ کا ایک وقت ہے
اور امن کا بھی ایک وقت ہے۔
خدا کا اپنی دنیا پر قابو رکھنا
9 لوگو ں کو اپنی ساری سخت محنت سے کیا حاصل ہو تا ہے ؟ نہیں ! کیوں کہ جو ہوتا ہے وہ تو ہو گا ہی۔ 10 میں نے اس سخت دکھ کو دیکھا جو خدا نے بنی آدم کو دیا ہے کہ وہ مشقت میں مبتلا رہیں۔ 11 خدا نے ہم لوگو ں کو اس دنیا کے با رے میں سوچنے کی صلا حیت دی ہے۔ لیکن خدا جن چیزوں کو کر تا ہے اسے ہم پو ری طرح کبھی نہیں سمجھ سکتے۔ پھر بھی خدا ہر ایک چیز کو صحیح اور صحیح وقت پر کر تا ہے۔
12 میں محسوس کر تا ہوں کہ لوگو ں کے لئے سب سے بہتر یہ ہے کہ اپنے آپ میں خوشی منا ئے اور جب تک جیتا رہے اچھا کام کرے۔ 13 خدا چاہتا ہے کہ ہر شخص کھائے پئے اور اپنی محنت سے فائدہ اٹھا تا رہے۔ یہ باتیں خدا کی جانب سے حاصل شدہ تحفہ ہیں۔
14 میں جانتا ہوں کہ خدا جو کچھ بھی کرتا ہے وہ ابدا لآباد نہیں ہے۔ لوگ اپنے کامو ں میں نہ تو کچھ جوڑ سکتے ہیں اور نہ ہی کچھ لے سکتے ہیں۔ اس لئے لوگ خدا کے کام میں حصہ نہیں لے سکتے۔ خدا نے ایسا اس لئے کیا کہ لوگ اس کا احترام کریں۔ 15 جواب ہو رہا ہے وہ پہلے بھی ہو چکا ہے جو کچھ آگے ہو گا وہ پہلے بھی ہوا تھا اور خدا گذشتہ کو پھر طلب کر تا ہے۔
16 اس دنیا میں میں نے یہ باتیں بھی دیکھی ہیں۔عدالت گاہ میں ظلم ہے اور صداقت کے مکان میں شرارت ہے۔ 17 اس لئے میں اپنے دل سے کہا ، “ہربات کے لئے خدا نے ایک وقت مقرر کیا ہے انسان جو کچھ کرتا ہے اس کی عدالت کرنے کے لئے بھی خدا نے ایک وقت مقر رکیا ہے خدا اچھے اور بُرے لوگوں کا فیصلہ کریگا۔”
کیا انسان جانورو ں جیسے ہیں ؟
18 لوگ ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ جو کچھ کر تے ہیں ان کے با رے میں میں نے سوچا اور اپنے آ پ سے کہا، “خدا چاہتا ہے کہ لوگ اپنے آپ کو اپنے روپ میں دیکھیں جس روپ میں وہ جانو رو ں کو دیکھتے ہیں۔” 19 ویسا ہی لوگو ں اور جانوروں کے ساتھ بھی ہو تا ہے۔ ایک ہی مقّدر دونوں کا انتظار کر رہا ہے۔ جس طرح لوگ مر تے ہیں اسی طرح جانور بھی مر تے ہیں۔ سب میں ایک ہی “ سانس” ہے۔ لوگو ں کو جانوروں پر کو ئی برتری حاصل نہیں ہے۔ جیسا کہ ہر چیز بے معنی ہے۔ 20 انسانوں اور جانورو ں کے جسم کا خاتمہ ایک ہی طرح سے ہو تا ہے۔ وہ مٹی سے پیدا ہو ئے ہیں اورخاتمہ کے بعد وہ مٹی میں سما جا تے ہیں۔ 21 کون جانتا ہے کہ انسان کی روح کے ساتھ کیا ہو تا ہے ؟ کیا کو ئی جانتا ہے کہ ایک انسان کی روح خدا کے پاس جا تی ہے جبکہ ایک جانور کی روح نیچے اتر کر زمین میں سماجاتی ہے؟
22 پس میں نے دیکھا کہ انسان کے لئے اس ے بہتر کچھ نہیں کہ وہ اپنے کا روبار میں خوش رہے۔اس لئے کہ یہی اس کا حصّہ بخرہ ہے کیونکہ کون اسے واپس لا ئے گا کہ جو کچھ اس کے بعد ہو گا اسے دیکھ لے۔

A Time for Everything
3 There is a time(A) for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,(B)
3 a time to kill(C) and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent(D) and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil?(E) 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.(F) 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time.(G) He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom(H) what God has done from beginning to end.(I) 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink,(J) and find satisfaction(K) in all their toil—this is the gift of God.(L) 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.(M)
15 Whatever is has already been,(N)
and what will be has been before;(O)
and God will call the past to account.[b]
16 And I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.
17 I said to myself,
“God will bring into judgment(P)
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time to judge every deed.”(Q)
18 I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.(R) 19 Surely the fate of human beings(S) is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath[c]; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return.(T) 21 Who knows if the human spirit rises upward(U) and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work,(V) because that is their lot.(W) For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
