39 اس وقت مردوک بلدان بن بلدان شاہ بابل نے قاصدوں کو خط اور تحفوں کے ساتھ حزقیاہ کے پاس بھیجے۔ کیوں کہ اس نے سنا تھا کہ حزقیاہ بیمار تھا لیکن اب شفا یاب ہو گیا ہے۔ 2 اور حزقیاہ ان قاصدوں سے بہت خوش ہوا اور اپنے خزانے یعنی چاندی اور سونا اور مصالحہ اور بیش قیمت عطر اور تمام اسلحہ اور جو کچھ اسکے خزانے میں موجود تھا ان کو دکھا یا۔ اس کے گھر میں اور اسکی ساری مملکت میں ایسی کوئی چیز نہ تھی جو حزقیاہ نے انکو نہ دکھا ئی۔
3 یسعیاہ نبی شاہ حزقیاہ کے پاس گیا اور اس سے کہا ، “یہ لوگ کیا کہہ رہے ہیں؟ یہ لوگ کہاں سے آئے ہیں ؟”
حزقیاہ نے کہا ، “یہ لوگ دور کے ملک سے میرے پاس آئے ہیں یہ لوگ بابل سے آئے ہیں۔”
4 اس پر یسعیاہ نے اس سے پو چھا ، “انہوں نے تیرے محل میں کیا دیکھا ؟”
حزقیاہ نے کہا ، “میرے محل کی ہر شئے انہوں نے دیکھی میرے خزانوں میں ایسی کوئی چیز نہیں جو میں نے انکو نہ دکھا ئی ہو۔”
5 تب یسعیاہ نے حزقیاہ سے کہا ، “خدا وند قادر مطلق کے کلام کو سنو۔ 6 ’دیکھ وہ دن دور نہیں ہے کہ سب کچھ جو تیرے گھر میں ہے اور جو کچھ تیرے باپ دادا نے آج کے دن تک جمع کر کے رکھا ہے بابل کو لے جائیں گے کچھ بھی باقی نہ رہے گا۔ خدا وند قادر مطلق یہ فرماتا ہے۔ 7 بابل کے لوگ تیرے کچھ بیٹوں کو لے جائیں گے وہ بیٹے جو تجھ سے پیدا ہوں گے۔ تیرے بیٹے شاہ بابل کے محل میں حاکم بنیں گے۔”
8 حزقیاہ نے یسعیاہ سے کہا ، “خدا وند کا پیغام جو تو نے سنا یا اچھا ہے۔ ( حزقیاہ نے ایسا اس لئے کہا کیوں کہ اس کا خیال تھا کہ جب تک میں بادشاہ ہوں یہاں سلامتی اور امن ہوگا۔)”

Envoys From Babylon(A)
39 At that time Marduk-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon(B) sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of his illness and recovery. 2 Hezekiah received the envoys(C) gladly and showed them what was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold,(D) the spices, the fine olive oil—his entire armory and everything found among his treasures.(E) There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
3 Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, “What did those men say, and where did they come from?”
“From a distant land,(F)” Hezekiah replied. “They came to me from Babylon.”
4 The prophet asked, “What did they see in your palace?”
“They saw everything in my palace,” Hezekiah said. “There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them.”
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word(G) of the Lord Almighty: 6 The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your predecessors have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon.(H) Nothing will be left, says the Lord. 7 And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.(I)”
8 “The word of the Lord you have spoken is good,(J)” Hezekiah replied. For he thought, “There will be peace and security in my lifetime.(K)”

39 At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.
2 And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
3 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.
4 Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.
5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts:
6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.
