13 知恵のある若者は父親の忠告を聞き、
親をさげすむ子はそれを鼻であしらいます。
正しい人は注意深く語って訴訟に勝ちますが、
邪悪な者は争いを欲するだけです。
自分を制するとは、ことばに気をつけることです。
とっさに言い返すと、
何もかもぶち壊しになることがあります。
怠け者は、いくら欲しがっても、
何も得ることができません。
しかしこつこつ働く人は、裕福になります。
正しい人はうそを憎み、
悪者はうそばかりついて恥をかきます。
何よりもまず正しく生きることです。
悪いことをすれば必ず身を滅ぼします。
自分で金持ちだと思っていても貧しい人がおり、
貧乏だと思っていても富んでいる人がいます。
富がなければ、身の代金目当てに
子どもを誘拐される心配もありません。
正しい人は明るく生き生きした毎日を送り、
悪者は陰気な日陰の道を歩きます。
10 自分に自信がありすぎる人は、
なかなか主張を曲げません。
素直に忠告を聞く人は賢くなります。
11 賭け事で得た財は羽が生えて飛んでいき、
こつこつためた財は確実に増えていきます。
12 長い間期待が延ばされると心を病みますが、
待ち望んだ夢が実現すると、
生きているのが楽しくなります。
13 みことばをおろそかにすると苦しい目に会い、
みことばに従えば成功します。
14 知恵のある人の助言を聞くのは、
泉の水を飲むようなものです。
たちまち元気が出て、
前方の落とし穴がよく見えるようになります。
15 物事のよくわかる人は高く評価され、
裏切り者は苦い思いをします。
16 見識のある人は先を見て動き、
愚か者はそれとは違い、愚かさを自慢します。
17 あてにならない人に伝言を頼むとめんどうが起き、
信頼できる人に頼めば
目的は果たされます。
18 正しい批判に耳を貸さないと
貧乏になり、恥をかきます。
聞くべき批判を聞けば、
名をなす人になります。
19 計画どおりにいくのは快いものです。
しかし愚か者は、間違った計画でも
あきらめがつきません。
20 知恵ある人のそばにいれば知恵ある人になり、
悪人のそばにいれば悪に染まります。
21 悪いことをすれば人にのろわれ、
正しいことをすれば祝福されます。
22 正しい人は孫にまで遺産を残しますが、
罪人の財産は、
最後には神を恐れる人のものになります。
23 貧しい人の畑でも土は肥えています。
しかし不正があれば、
その収穫は奪われます。
24 子どもを懲らしめない親は、
その子を心から愛していないのと同じです。
愛している子なら罰するはずです。
25 正しい人は生きるために食べ、
悪人は食べるために生きます。
