가나안의 경계
34 여호와께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 전하라고 모세에게 말씀하
2 셨다. “너희가 가나안 땅에 들어갈 때 내가 너희에게 줄 그 땅의 경계는 다음과 같다:
3 남쪽 경계 지역은 에돔 국경에 접해 있는 진 광야이며 그 경계선은 동쪽으로 사해 남단에서 시작하여
4 아그랍빔 비탈 남쪽을 지나 진 광야를 통과하여 가데스 – 바네아 남쪽까지 이르고 거기서 계속 하살 – 아달과 아스몬까지 이어질 것이며
5 또 그 경계선은 아스몬에서 돌아서 이집트 국경 지역의 개울을 따라 지중해 연안에서 끝날 것이다.
6 “그리고 서쪽 경계는 지중해가 될 것이다.
7-9 “북쪽 경계는 지중해에서 호르산에 이 르고 거기서 하맛 고개와 스닷과 시브론을 거쳐 하살 – 에난까지 이를 것이다.
10 “동쪽 경계는 하살 – 에난에서 남쪽으로 스밤에 이르고
11 거기서 다시 아인의 동쪽 리블라에 이를 것이며 거기서 다시 서쪽으로 꺾어 [a]갈릴리 바다 동편 해변에 이르고
12 거기서 요단강을 따라 사해에 이를 것이다.”
13 그래서 모세는 이스라엘 백성에게 말하였다. “이것은 여러분이 제비 뽑아 분배받을 땅입니다. 여호와께서는 이 땅을 아홉 지파 반에게 나누어 주라고 명령하셨습니다.
14-15 이것은 르우벤 지파와 갓 지파와 므낫 세 지파 절반이 여리고 맞은편 요단강 동쪽에서 이미 땅을 분배받았기 때문입니다.”

16 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
17 “그 땅을 분배해 줄 사람은 제사장 엘르아살과 눈의 아들 여호수아이다.
18 너는 그들이 땅을 분배하는 데 도와줄 사람들을 각 지파에서 한 명씩 뽑아라.
19 그들은 다음과 같다:
유다 지파에서 여분네의 아들 갈렙,
20 시므온 지파에서 암미훗의 아들 스므엘,
21 베냐민 지파에서 기슬론의 아들 엘리닷,
22 단 지파에서 요글리의 아들 북기,
23 므낫세 지파에서 에봇의 아들 한니엘,
24 에브라임 지파에서 십단의 아들 그무엘,
25 스불론 지파에서 바르낙의 아들 엘리사반,
26 잇사갈 지파에서 앗산의 아들 발디엘,
27 아셀 지파에서 슬로미의 아들 아히훗,
28 납달리 지파에서 암미훗의 아들 브다헬이다.”
29 이상은 여호와께서 가나안 땅을 이스라엘 백성에게 분배할 임무를 맡긴 자들이다.

Boundaries of Canaan
34 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan,(A) the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance(B) is to have these boundaries:(C)
3 “‘Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin(D) along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea,(E) 4 cross south of Scorpion Pass,(F) continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea.(G) Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon,(H) 5 where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt(I) and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6 “‘Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.(J) This will be your boundary on the west.(K)
7 “‘For your northern boundary,(L) run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor(M) 8 and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath.(N) Then the boundary will go to Zedad, 9 continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
10 “‘For your eastern boundary,(O) run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. 11 The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah(P) on the east side of Ain(Q) and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.[a](R) 12 Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea.
“‘This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’”
13 Moses commanded the Israelites: “Assign this land by lot(S) as an inheritance.(T) The Lord has ordered that it be given to the nine and a half tribes, 14 because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.(U) 15 These two and a half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise.”
16 The Lord said to Moses, 17 “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua(V) son of Nun. 18 And appoint one leader from each tribe to help(W) assign the land.(X) 19 These are their names:(Y)
Caleb(Z) son of Jephunneh,
from the tribe of Judah;(AA)
20 Shemuel son of Ammihud,
from the tribe of Simeon;(AB)
21 Elidad son of Kislon,
from the tribe of Benjamin;(AC)
22 Bukki son of Jogli,
the leader from the tribe of Dan;
23 Hanniel son of Ephod,
the leader from the tribe of Manasseh(AD) son of Joseph;
24 Kemuel son of Shiphtan,
the leader from the tribe of Ephraim(AE) son of Joseph;
25 Elizaphan son of Parnak,
the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;(AF)
26 Paltiel son of Azzan,
the leader from the tribe of Issachar;
27 Ahihud son of Shelomi,
the leader from the tribe of Asher;(AG)
28 Pedahel son of Ammihud,
the leader from the tribe of Naphtali.”
29 These are the men the Lord commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.(AH)
