거역하는 자들에 대한 하나님의 심판
65 여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “나에게 묻지 않은 사람들에게 내가 나를 나 타내고 나를 찾지 않던 사람들에게 내가 발견되었으며 내 이름을 부르지 않은 나라에 ‘내가 여기 있다. 내가 여기 있다’ 하였다.
2 내가 하루 종일 팔을 벌리고 내 백성을 맞을 준비를 하였으나 그들은 거역하며 자기들 멋대로 악한 짓을 하고 있다.
3 그들은 정원에서 제사를 지내고 벽돌 제단에서 분향하여 항상 내 분노를 일으키는 백성이다.
4 밤이 되면 그들은 죽은 자들의 영들을 만나려고 무덤이나 동굴을 찾아가며 먹지 못하도록 되어 있는 돼지고기를 먹고 우상에게 제사한 고기를 삶아 그 국물을 마시면서도
5 다른 사람에게는 ‘너무 가까이 오지 말아라. 나는 네가 만져서는 안 될 거룩한 몸이다’ 하고 말하니 이런 자들이 [a]밤낮 내 분노를 일으키고 있다.
6 “내가 이미 그들을 벌하기로 작정하였고 그들의 심판이 내 앞에 기록되었으니 그들이 행한 일을 내가 모르는 척하지 않고 반드시 그 대가를 받도록 할 것이다.
7 그들의 죄는 물론 그 조상들의 죄에 대해서도 내가 그들에게 벌을 내리겠다. 그들이 산 위의 이방 신전에서 분향하며 나를 모욕하였으므로 내가 그들의 지난 일을 철저하게 계산하여 그들이 행한 그대로 갚아 줄 것이다.
8 “나쁜 포도송이에도 즙을 짤 만한 좋은 포도가 있으므로 사람들이 그것을 송이째 던져 버리지 않는 것처럼 나도 내 백성을 송두리째 멸망시키지 않고
9 이스라엘 땅을 소유할 내 백성을 살아 남게 하겠다. 나를 섬기는 택한 내 백성들이 거기서 살 것이다.
10 그들이 나를 섬기며 사론 평야와 아골 골짜기에서 그들의 소떼와 양떼를 먹일 것이다.
11 “그러나 나 여호와를 버리고 나의 거룩한 산을 잊고 행운과 운명의 신인 갓과 므니 신을 섬기는 자들은
12 칼날에 죽음을 당하도록 하겠다. 이것은 내가 불러도 그들이 대답하지 않았으며 내가 말을 해도 그들이 듣지 않고 내 앞에서 악을 행하며 내가 기뻐하지 않는 일을 택하였기 때문이다.
13 그래서 내가 말하지만 나를 섬기는 종들은 먹고 마실 것이 풍성할 것이나 그들은 굶주리고 목마를 것이다. 내 종들은 즐거워할 것이지만 그들은 수치를 당할 것이며
14 내 종들은 기뻐서 노래할 것이나 그들은 슬픔과 절망 가운데서 통곡할 것이다.
15 내가 택한 백성들이 그들의 이름을 저줏거리로 사용할 것이니 나 여호와가 그들은 죽이고 내 종들에게는 새로운 이름을 줄 것이다.
16 복을 구하는 자들이 진리의 하나님께 복을 구하며 맹세하는 자들이 신실한 하나님의 이름으로 맹세할 때가 올 것이다. 이것은 내가 지나간 일들을 다 잊어버릴 것이기 때문이다.”
새 하늘과 새 땅
17 여호와께서 말씀하신다. “보라! 내가 새 하늘과 새 땅을 창조한다. 이전 것은 기억되거나 생각나지 않을 것이다.
18 너희는 내가 창조하는 것을 보고 영원히 기뻐하며 즐거워하라. 내가 만들 새 예루살렘은 기쁨이 충만할 것이며 그 백성들은 행복할 것이다.
19 내가 예루살렘과 그 백성 때문에 기뻐할 것이니 다시는 거기서 우는 소리와 부르짖는 소리가 들리지 않을 것이다.
20 거기에는 며칠 살지 못하고 죽는 유아가 없을 것이며 제 명대로 다 살지 못하는 사람이 없을 것이다. 백 세에 죽는 사람도 젊어서 죽는 사람으로 여기고 백 세가 되지 못해서 죽는 사람은 저주를 받은 것으로 여길 것이다.
21 내 백성이 집을 짓고 거기에 살며 포도원을 가꾸어 그 포도를 먹을 것이다.
22 그들이 지은 집에 다른 사람이 살지 않을 것이며 그들이 재배한 것을 타인이 먹지 않을 것이다. 이것은 그들이 나무처럼 오래 살며 자기들이 수고하여 얻은 것을 길이 누릴 것이기 때문이다.
23 그들의 수고가 헛되지 않을 것이며 그들의 자녀들이 재난을 만나지 않을 것이다. 내가 그들과 그 후손들을 축복하겠다.
24 그들이 나를 부르기도 전에 내가 대답할 것이며 그들이 말을 끝맺기도 전에 내가 그들의 기도에 응답할 것이다.
25 이리와 어린 양이 함께 먹고 사자가 소처럼 짚을 먹을 것이며 뱀이 흙을 먹고 살 것이다. 이와 같이 나의 거룩한 산에서는 상하거나 해치는 일이 없을 것이다.”

65 “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me.(A)
To a nation(B) that did not call on my name,(C)
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I.’
2 All day long I have held out my hands
to an obstinate people,(D)
who walk in ways not good,
pursuing their own imaginations(E)—
3 a people who continually provoke me
to my very face,(F)
offering sacrifices in gardens(G)
and burning incense(H) on altars of brick;
4 who sit among the graves(I)
and spend their nights keeping secret vigil;
who eat the flesh of pigs,(J)
and whose pots hold broth of impure meat;
5 who say, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me,
for I am too sacred(K) for you!’
Such people are smoke(L) in my nostrils,
a fire that keeps burning all day.
6 “See, it stands written before me:
I will not keep silent(M) but will pay back(N) in full;
I will pay it back into their laps(O)—
7 both your sins(P) and the sins of your ancestors,”(Q)
says the Lord.
“Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains
and defied me on the hills,(R)
I will measure into their laps
the full payment(S) for their former deeds.”
8 This is what the Lord says:
“As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes(T)
and people say, ‘Don’t destroy it,
there is still a blessing in it,’
so will I do in behalf of my servants;(U)
I will not destroy them all.
9 I will bring forth descendants(V) from Jacob,
and from Judah those who will possess(W) my mountains;
my chosen(X) people will inherit them,
and there will my servants live.(Y)
10 Sharon(Z) will become a pasture for flocks,(AA)
and the Valley of Achor(AB) a resting place for herds,
for my people who seek(AC) me.
11 “But as for you who forsake(AD) the Lord
and forget my holy mountain,(AE)
who spread a table for Fortune
and fill bowls of mixed wine(AF) for Destiny,
12 I will destine you for the sword,(AG)
and all of you will fall in the slaughter;(AH)
for I called but you did not answer,(AI)
I spoke but you did not listen.(AJ)
You did evil in my sight
and chose what displeases me.”(AK)
13 Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“My servants will eat,(AL)
but you will go hungry;(AM)
my servants will drink,(AN)
but you will go thirsty;(AO)
my servants will rejoice,(AP)
but you will be put to shame.(AQ)
14 My servants will sing(AR)
out of the joy of their hearts,
but you will cry out(AS)
from anguish of heart
and wail in brokenness of spirit.
15 You will leave your name
for my chosen ones to use in their curses;(AT)
the Sovereign Lord will put you to death,
but to his servants he will give another name.(AU)
16 Whoever invokes a blessing(AV) in the land
will do so by the one true God;(AW)
whoever takes an oath in the land
will swear(AX) by the one true God.
For the past troubles(AY) will be forgotten
and hidden from my eyes.
New Heavens and a New Earth
17 “See, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.(AZ)
The former things will not be remembered,(BA)
nor will they come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice(BB) forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem(BC) to be a delight
and its people a joy.
19 I will rejoice(BD) over Jerusalem
and take delight(BE) in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying(BF)
will be heard in it no more.
20 “Never again will there be in it
an infant(BG) who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;(BH)
the one who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere child;
the one who fails to reach[a] a hundred
will be considered accursed.
21 They will build houses(BI) and dwell in them;
they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.(BJ)
22 No longer will they build houses and others live in them,(BK)
or plant and others eat.
For as the days of a tree,(BL)
so will be the days(BM) of my people;
my chosen(BN) ones will long enjoy
the work of their hands.
23 They will not labor in vain,(BO)
nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune;(BP)
for they will be a people blessed(BQ) by the Lord,
they and their descendants(BR) with them.
24 Before they call(BS) I will answer;(BT)
while they are still speaking(BU) I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb(BV) will feed together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox,(BW)
and dust will be the serpent’s(BX) food.
They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,”(BY)
says the Lord.
