34 (A)Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good;
    his love is eternal.

(A)When the people of Israel saw the fire fall from heaven and the light fill the Temple, they fell face downward on the pavement, worshiping God and praising him for his goodness and his eternal love.

When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying,

“He is good;

“The Lord is good, and his love for Israel is eternal.” Everyone shouted with all their might, praising the Lord, because the work on the foundation of the Temple had been started.

“He is good;
    his love toward Israel endures forever.”(A)

‘Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,
    because he is good
    and his love is eternal.’

I will make this land as prosperous as it was before. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,
    for the Lord is good;(C)
