22 Segub was the father of Jair, who owned twenty-three towns in the land of Gilead, 23 but Geshur and Aram took Havvoth-jair from them, as well as Kenath and its villages, sixty towns.

All these were descendants of Machir, Gilead’s father. 24 After Hezron’s death, Caleb went to Ephrath.[a] Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur, Tekoa’s father.
