All these were the sons of Heman (A)the king’s seer to [a]exalt him according to the words of God, for God gave fourteen sons and three daughters to Heman. All these were under the [b]direction of their father to sing in the house of the Lord, (B)with cymbals, harps and lyres, for the service of the house of God. (C)Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman were under the [c]direction of the king. Their number who were trained in singing to the Lord, with their [d]relatives, all who were skillful, was (D)288.

All these men were under the supervision of their father(A) for the music of the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, lyres and harps, for the ministry at the house of God.

Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman(B) were under the supervision of the king.(C) Along with their relatives—all of them trained and skilled in music for the Lord—they numbered 288.
