33 Ahithophel was also the king’s counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.(A) 34 After Ahithophel[a] came Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. The commander of the king’s army was Joab.

33 Ahithophel(A) was the king’s counselor.
Hushai(B) the Arkite was the king’s confidant. 34 Ahithophel was succeeded by Jehoiada son of Benaiah and by Abiathar.(C)
Joab(D) was the commander of the royal army.
